Enterprise IT professionals conducting a remote support software comparison

Enterprise IT teams don't begin a remote support software comparison out of curiosity. The trigger is usually a contract renewal, a security review flagging a persistent-agent model, or a directive to align remote access with a zero-trust policy.  We evaluated eight platforms commonly shortlisted by enterprise IT teams across five dimensions that reflect how IT, security, and procurement teams make decisions at scale. Use it to structure your remote support software shortlist and guide your vendor conversations.

Remote support software comparison: platforms at a glance

We evaluated eight platforms;browser-based delivery, ITSM integration type, and access model are structural decisions baked into each platform's architecture. The remaining columns reflect current published capabilities.

Two gaps stand out: browser-based delivery and native ITSM integration are rare across the field. Most platforms route technicians through installed desktop clients and connect to ITSM systems via API connectors rather than embedded workflows. For enterprise IT teams where deployment friction and incomplete documentation are active operational problems, those structural differences carry more weight than individual feature counts.

ScreenMeet is the only platform in this comparison to address both gaps simultaneously: it requires no installed client on either side and embeds natively inside ServiceNow, Salesforce, and Tanium rather than connecting through middleware.

Platform summaries

ScreenMeet, for ServiceNow-native agentic remote support

ScreenMeet is built directly inside ServiceNow, Salesforce, and Tanium, not connected through middleware. Technicians launch sessions, access device telemetry, and close incidents without leaving the ITSM workspace.

The platform's agentic AI workflow covers four steps.

  1. Discover assembles incident context and device telemetry before the technician requests them.
  2. Analyze builds a diagnostic and remediation plan against the organization's knowledge base.
  3. Apply executes approved steps from a library of pre-approved scripts, with the technician retaining decision authority at each step.
  4. Document writes resolution notes back to the incident automatically at session close, with no recording required.

TTEC used this workflow to scale QA review from 3 to 4 calls per technician to more than 10,000 sessions reviewed per month, while saving technicians 2 to 10 minutes per session on manual documentation (verified, TTEC).

ScreenMeet carries SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, GDPR, and EU-US Data Privacy Framework certifications, supports geo-fencing and regional data residency, and currently serves 25,000+ technicians and 500M+ end users worldwide.

Price range: $$–$$$

Best for: Enterprise IT help desks running ServiceNow as their primary ITSM platform

BeyondTrust, for privileged access and high-security environments

BeyondTrust is the most security-intensive platform in this comparison. Its privileged access management capabilities, FIPS 140-2 certification, and comprehensive audit depth are relevant for U.S. federal, defense, and financial services environments where every access event must meet regulatory scrutiny.

Session initiation runs through approval workflows that introduce friction in high-volume employee-facing support scenarios. InfoSec teams conducting a renewal review should include BeyondTrust's published CVE record (CVE-2024-12356, CVSS 9.8; CVE-2026-1731, CVSS 9.9, both in the Bomgar Remote Support appliance) alongside its certification list in the security assessment.

Price range: $$$$–$$$$$

Best for: Regulated environments where privileged access management is the primary requirement

TeamViewer, for broad device coverage across global environments

TeamViewer supports the widest range of operating systems and device types in this comparison, including mobile, IoT, and industrial endpoints. Its enterprise Tensor plan includes a ServiceNow connector and CoPilot AI assistance for session-level insights.

The platform relies on installed agents and a persistent-agent model; in locked-down enterprise environments, the install requirement introduces friction, and the persistent-agent model requires ongoing policy management to maintain least-privilege access. Advanced governance and audit reporting are tiered behind higher-cost enterprise plans.

Price range: $$$–$$$$

Best for: Organizations requiring broad device compatibility across global, distributed environments

ConnectWise ScreenConnect, for MSP-oriented technical teams

ScreenConnect delivers deep session control and self-hosting options suited to managed service providers and technically advanced support teams. Its integration with the ConnectWise PSA and RMM ecosystem works well for organizations already running those tools.

For internal enterprise IT teams on ServiceNow or Salesforce, ScreenConnect operates as a separate tool with manual documentation workflows. Audit depth requires additional configuration, and the learning curve is steeper than browser-based alternatives.

Price range: $$–$$$

Best for: MSP environments and technically advanced teams inside the ConnectWise ecosystem

Splashtop Enterprise, for cost-efficient remote access

Splashtop is positioned on performance and affordability. Low-latency connections and per-technician pricing make it worth evaluating for organizations reducing remote access spend.

Audit depth and compliance certifications do not meet the requirements of regulated industries without higher-tier plans, and the persistent-agent model requires installation on managed endpoints. For enterprise IT teams where governance, data residency, and ITSM integration are procurement requirements, cost and performance advantages alone are not sufficient.

Price range: $–$$

Best for: Cost-conscious environments where basic remote access performance outweighs governance depth

LogMeIn Rescue, for attended remote support without end-user downloads

LogMeIn Rescue supports attended sessions without requiring an end-user download, making it straightforward to deploy in environments where technicians cannot pre-install agents on user devices. Partial ITSM connector integration is available but limited to connector-based, rather than embedded, workflows.

Governance depth and ISO 27001 certification are not available on standard plans. The connector-based ITSM integration does not support embedded workflows, and audit capabilities are limited compared to enterprise-grade platforms.

Price range: $$–$$$

Best for: Teams with attended-only support workflows that do not require deep ITSM integration or enterprise compliance controls

NinjaOne, for endpoint-management-centric IT teams

NinjaOne approaches remote access as a component of endpoint management rather than a standalone support platform. Its RMM-first architecture provides strong visibility and automated remediation across managed, corporate-owned devices—making it a capable fit for IT teams with a well-defined, consistent device fleet.

NinjaOne is less suited for ad hoc, user-initiated support or compliance-driven environments. It offers no native ServiceNow or Salesforce integration, and its remote access capabilities are secondary to its RMM functionality, not designed for high-volume help desk workflows.

Price range: $$–$$$

Best for: IT teams managing a defined fleet of corporate-owned devices who prioritize endpoint management over ITSM-embedded remote support

GoTo Resolve, for consolidated IT tooling without ITSM embedding

GoTo Resolve bundles remote access, endpoint management, and ticketing into a single platform. For organizations without a mature ITSM platform, the consolidated toolset reduces the number of vendors and simplifies IT operations through a single interface.

The broad feature set overlaps with existing ITSM tools and creates workflow redundancy for teams already using ServiceNow or Salesforce. GoTo Resolve does not embed natively into either platform, and its ticketing module is unlikely to replace enterprise ITSM deployments in regulated or complex support environments.

Price range: $$–$$$

Best for: Organizations that value consolidated IT tooling and do not require ServiceNow or Salesforce workflow integration

For regulated enterprises, security and compliance depth often determines the shortlist before any other dimension is evaluated. For organizations already running ServiceNow, integration type determines how much documentation overhead and AI readiness the platform delivers from day one.

Completing your remote support software comparison

The most useful questions in a remote support software comparison are architectural: does the platform use a session-based access model or a persistent-agent model, is it built into your ITSM platform or bolted on through middleware, and can it demonstrate compliance controls through certifications rather than configuration promises? For teams running ServiceNow, a platform-native integration means session data lives inside the ServiceNow data model from the moment a session opens. That is what enables agentic AI, knowledge base growth, and Now Assist performance without additional data pipelines.
